Welcome to the New Bungie.net
Well, we promised you a new site, and hopefully we delivered! What we really want you guys to do is go explore, look around and sniff out the deepest darkest corners of the super revamped Bungie.net, but first we want to thank you for sticking with us all these years, and welcome new readers and new Halo players too.
The new site obviously looks radically different, with new navigation, a new appearance and tons and tons of new art assets. But more than that, the site is going to accelerate massively in terms of the quantity and quality of content we provide. Expect lots of new stories, interviews and yes, Halo 2 stuff in the coming months (this week in particular is going to be packed.)
The community site, including forums and The 7th Column fanclub, has also been updated. Forums especially should be a big draw from now on, and Bungie staff will be prowling them to respond to reader questions and demands.
The first thing you should do though, is Sign In and create an account. This will let you take full advantage of the site's many new features, from forum posting to news submissions. And if your Xbox Live Gamertag is linked to Microsoft .Net Passport, then you'll be able to see your Gamertag and your Friends List right here at Bungie.net. Now why would we do that? Well, the only button in the navigation bar that doesn't work (right now) is the "Stats" button…wonder what that's going to be for?
More news (some of it submitted by you, dear reader) lots of big and small feature stories and more access than ever to the Bungie staff, means that the new Bungie.net ought to be your premier destination for Halo, Halo 2 and Bungie related stuff.
But we didn't spring forth fully formed from Halo, there were a whole lots of cool Bungie games long before Halo ever arrived. You can read all about the company history, scan the biographies of the less-secretive/more insane staff, or browse art and information on ancient classics like Marathon, Myth, Oni and more!
Navigation is a heck of a lot easier than before, and the nifty nav bar can be minimized when not in use (just click the "down" arrow on the left hand side.) and otherwise serves as a perfect, multifunctional way to get to almost anywhere on the site.
So go explore, enjoy yourself and keep coming back this week, because there are going to be some cool surprises, the Webmaster is rumored to return, and one or two of the surprises may even be Halo 2 related....

The relaunch of Bungie.net has been a long, arduous, rewarding, frightening, hilarious and occasionally nauseous process. It could not have been done without the input, hard work and creative talents of the test, design, community, development and art departments. If we've done it right, the cool technology underneath the new Bungie.net should be seamless and invisible too. The guys put in long hours, ate some terrible food, trawled through thousands of bugs real and imagined and created the best gosh danged website relaunch in the history of this year, of Bungie.net.
